Vice President, Product Manager, Markit Equities
Role Summary
Markit is the leading provider of independent, multi-asset class, high value services for the global financial market. Our independent pricing, reference data, portfolio valuations, trade processing and desktop solutions are used around the world to enhance trading operations, reduce risk and manage compliance initiatives. We are building a new platform for multi-asset class post-trade processing. The successful candidate will drive the design, build and deployment of the new platform including liaising with clients, managing the specification process, leading the internal team and managing timelines and resources.
Duties and Accountabilities
- The senior role will be based in Europe with responsibility for the following:
- Managing the platform build;
- Liaising with clients to distill their requirements and ensure a smooth on-boarding process;
- Managing and driving the specification process both at initiation and throughout the process;
- Coordination of the build of the platform with the technology team and lead;
- Scoping and building the support processes;
- Working closely with Testing resources to co-ordinate the test process definition and execution;
- Driving interaction with sales including giving training and receiving client feedback;
- Working with clients and legal department in order to finalise contracts;
- Ensuring the build process is effectively resourced and kept on schedule.
Business Competencies
- Education and Experience:
- Significant experience in financial services;
- Tertiary education or equivalent;
- Preference for experience in front office or technology management within an investment bank;
- Preference for some P&L responsibility.
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and respond to critical support issues
- Strong problem solving skills
- Proven ability to work independently
- Expertise in MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
- Strong understanding of technology, and its use in producing applications in the financial services industry
- Service driven outlook with strong customer orientation
- Good negotiation skills
