Role Summary

Markit WSO has immediate opening for an analytical and detail-oriented individual to lead a team that is responsible for the management of a product line through the entire life cycle from strategic planning to development and delivery while coordinating with other product lines to optimize client satisfaction and profitability. Candidate will provide project management and detail analysis in relation to customized software applications developed for securitized bond and loan transactions managed by Wall Street financial institutions and other high-profile clients. Candidate will work closely with Clients & Prospects as well as Sales, Implementation, Development, and Support areas to track and manage enhancement requests and priorities to define release cycles that will ensure balance between client satisfaction and corporate financial growth objectives.

This Product Manager will be responsible for managing a product line that will involve a high degree of coordination between the key market players, clients, prospects, and internal departments. The Product Manager will work very closely with the Sales/Business Development as well as Senior Management to ensure the right direction and implementation for the product line and will stay in-tune with any necessary changes that will be needed to grow the revenue stream.

The applicant will ideally reside within reasonable commuting distance from the Dallas office.

Duties and Accountabilities

  • Managing an entire product line life cycle through all stages
  • Specifying requirements for current and future product functionality by conducting market research and input from internal areas that have contact with clients and prospects
  • Driving a combined development effort across different product management teams to optimize client satisfaction and profitability while ensuring product compatibility
  • Support the Sales team in communicating the value of new releases via marketing material, business solutions presentations, and product demonstrations
  • Provide the details for current and future functionality that will be part of the knowledge base available to clients
  • Clearly define the scope of work and document requirements for any new functionality that will provide enough information to the Development and Quality Assurance areas to plan their part of the life cycle appropriately
  • Maintain a dashboard to communicate the current state of the assigned product line to other areas of the company and senior management

      Business Competencies

      • Significant years experience in accounting, finance, or financial systems development/implementation (preference for Big 3, banking, or investment industry experience with Bond Math, NPV, or other yield determining functions)
      • Prior experience with software product launch
      • Knowledge of Structured Finance Obligations, including CLOs, CBOs, and SWAPS
      • Significant years of experience with software marketing/product management
      • Significant years of project management to ensure milestone completion
      • Advance Degree or Business certifications (MBA, CFA, CPA, etc.) or equivalent

      Personal Competencies

      • BA or BS minimum or equivalent
      • PC skills – Microsoft Office Suite; excel modeling skills a plus
      • Willing and able to execute hands-on modelling tasks
      • Strong organizational and communication skills
      • Detail and task oriented
      • Analytical thinker with a strong work ethic
      • Experience working as part of a team
      • A unique blend of business expertise along with technology
      • Ability and willingness to travel as necessary
