The Candidate

Reporting to the Managing Director of Infrastructure you will need to be familiar with building management systems and have facilities management experience. The right candidate will need to be enthusiastic, self motivated and able to influence change.

You will need to hold the NEBOSH certificate as a minimum and be working towards the NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ 4 in H&S. Experience in both Health and Safety and Facilities is essential. Membership to BIFM or IOSH is preferred but not essential.

The Role

Ability to quickly assimilate multiple legacy systems and As Facilities Manager you will deliver an efficient and pro-active Facilities Management service across various offices in London. You will be responsible for all hard and soft FM contracts, coordination and execution of all moves/changes and projects, full Health and Safety management and mentoring and leadership of the in-house team.

General Responsibilities will include

  • Maintenance and up keep of office space
  • Project management of internal office relocations
  • Excellent understanding of software systems and development
  • Procurement of office supplies and furniture
  • Responsible for Fire Risk Assessments and general office based risk assessments
  • Health & Safety management, ensuring full compliance with current UK H&S legislation, internal policies and best practice
  • Day to day management of reception, print room, post room and Facilities helpdesk services

Specific Responsibilities will include:

  • To be responsible for all physical security matters
  • To be responsible for management of sub-contracted services, including liaison with land lord appointed buildings management staff, local council, police and fire services.
  • To take responsibility for day to day management of all premises, contracts and agreement including rent, rates, public utilities, repairs and maintenance, space planning and office moves, cleaners, waste disposal, security, fire alarm, notices and drills.
  • To take day-to-day responsibility for Health and Safety (H&S) activity, ensuring the building operates in accordance with relevant legislation and codes of practice.
  • Advise on Health and Safety requirements relating to new activities/initiatives.
  • To be the first point of contact for all out of hours Security and Fire related incidents.
  • To be the main contact for all environmental issues.
