Associate, Business Analyst - Markit Equities
Role Summary
Markit Group Limited (“Markit”), the leading provider of independent data, portfolio valuations and OTC derivatives trade processing to the global financial markets, seeks an experienced business analyst to join its product definition and design team.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skills in business analysis, writing requirement specifications, testing and communication and will come from a financial background. A strong technical background will be ideal.
Duties and Accountabilities
- Drive requirements gathering and documentation process
- Analyse process workflows and produce flow diagrams
- Identify gaps in processes and solutions
- Identify options for potential solutions, including assessment of business and technical suitability
- Use industry expertise to help define best-fit solutions
- Produce detailed business and functional requirement specifications from existing systems, previous drafts and customer interviews
- Ensure consistency of specifications across sub-systems
- Provide input into user interface layouts and create mock-ups
- Assist with acceptance test planning
- Write and revise client education and support materials (e.g. user guides, quick reference guides, FAQs, training materials, online help, etc.)
- Liaise with internal and/or external clients to provide expertise and input where necessary
Business Competencies
- Ideally hold a minimum of Bachelor’s degree or similar
- Proven track record as a business analyst
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Desire and ability to provide careful attention to detail
- Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle
- Strong interviewing skills
- Analytical and well organised
- Proven ability to work independently
- Expertise in MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
- Ability to take tasks to conclusion
- Able to work competently on his/her own or within a team, taking a project through complete lifecycle.
- Past experience with equity, fixed income or credit markets a benefit
