Role Summary

Markit’s Dallas, TX office is looking for an analytical and solution oriented Billing Analyst. The ideal candidate will have an interest in learning about this growing business area and the leveraged loan market it serves. The initial responsibilities will require full-time focus with the possibility of advanced duties in the future. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively with internal business groups, as well as Markit businesses and clients.

The applicant will ideally reside within reasonable commuting distance from the Dallas office.

Duties and Accountabilities

Reviewing contracts to determine fee amounts, fee calculations used, and timing of revenue recognition by client
Creating monthly sales reports
Reconciling invoices tracked in internal database with those tracked on accounting system
Reviewing payment reports to identify overdue balances and helping to manage accounts receivable

Business Competencies

Some years work experience related to financial services/technology and/or a strong ability and desire to grasp accounting processes quickly
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Solid work ethic and ability to reconcile work independently.
Strong communication and PC skills (particularly Excel)
BA or BS minimum or equivalent
Exposure to accounting for software companies
Experience with financial reporting
Familiarity with Access or similar database system a plus
