Associate, ABS Performance Data Analyst, Structured Finance
Role Summary
The Structured Finance group covers different products such as the management of Indices (ABX, CMBX, and TABX), the Reference Cashflow Database, US ABS Performance Data, a CMO/ABS Cashflow modeling service, a European ABS pricing service and the European Performance Data platform.
This opening provides an excellent opportunity for graduates with relevant experience to establish themselves in the fast-growing CDS of ABS and European ABS market. We are looking for a motivated candidate to help with the development of Markit’s European ABS Performance Data. The service provides collateral and Bond payment data for European Cash and Synthetic ABS Market.
Duties and Accountabilities
- Assist/lead a team of analysts in making sure that responsibilities are met and ensuring that the product meets high data quality levels.
- Analysing collateral and bond performance of asset-backed securities.
- Learning about European ABS Performance Data, data processes and workflow management tool.
- Staying abreast of the development of asset-backed securities and CDS of ABS markets.
- Enhancing and developing the analytical reach of the European Surveillance Product.
- Acting as a client liaison for the data businesses in Europe. This involves working with clients to understand their needs to help ensure we are delivering and exceeding their expectations.
- Understanding and assisting in the enhancement of all processes for gathering data and redistribution of data to client.
Business Competencies
- Some relevant ABS experience - NOTE: This is not an entry level role and would therefore be ideal for someone with ABS experience looking to develop their career in an exciting and fast-moving company.
- Self motivation with a strong desire to increase knowledge of European Surveillance products, asset-backed securities, CDS, fixed-income products, and financial markets. Experience in this context will be viewed upon favorably particularly for the Analyst role
- Knowledge of Italian would be a plus
- Knowledge of Excel/SQL/ACCESS would be preferable, but not essential - note that the successful candidate will be expected to learn this.
- All candidates must have a valid work permit/visa for permanent work in the UK.
